Student Employment Coordinator
Under direction of the department supervisor, the Student Employment Coordinator is responsible for the facilitation and execution of the student employment program. This role ensures compliance with institutional policies, state & federal regulations and fosters a supportive environment for student workers and their supervisors. The coordinator serves as a point of contact for student employment operations, which promotes the university's goal of professional and academic growth of student employees.
Minimum Qualifications- A high school diploma or GED and four years (FT) of related work experience OR
- two years of post-secondary education and two years of (FT) related work experience OR
- a Bachelor's degree in a related field and one year of (FT) related work experience.
- Excellent verbal/communication, writing and editing skills.
- Ability to calculate basic math.
- Thorough knowledge and skills to utilize current office equipment and a variety of complex software packages.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Student‑Supervisor Program Promotion (20%):
Coordinate with stakeholders to approve and classify student job descriptions and/or audits; deliver training and presentations; assist with special projects and initiatives. - Databases & Operations (20%):
Maintain and update student employment databases, job postings, and online systems; generate and verify reports; implement recruitment, hiring, onboarding, status changes and verifications; ensure accurate data entry in HR systems; review job postings and post approved positions. - Event & Program Services (20%):
Collaborate with service units; represent the student employment program at campus and departmental events; contribute to presentation, handouts and web resources. - Compliance & Correspondence (20%):
Ensure compliance with university, state & federal policies, including work‑study eligibility, payroll accuracy and timekeeping; advise on policies and procedures; provide administrative support with correspondence and reports. - Student Service/Customer Service (20%):
Serve as a point of contact for visitors, students and faculty; provide general assistance; refer students to support offices; may supervise student employees and provide guidance.
