Job Summary / Basic Function

The Department of Human Services offers a Master’s degree accredited by the Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs. The program includes four CACREP‑accredited programs:
School Counseling and Clinical Mental Health Counseling. The Instructor/Lecturer will teach 24 semester hours (8 courses) across a two‑semester academic year. The appointment begins in fall 2026 and is renewable.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Instructor: Master’s degree in mental health, school, or rehabilitation counseling OR terminal degree in Counselor Education and Supervision from a CACREP‑accredited program. At least 1 year of experience as a K‑12 school counselor (LSC) or professional counseling (LPC).
  • Lecturer: Master’s degree in mental health, school, or rehabilitation counseling OR terminal degree in Counselor Education and Supervision from a CACREP‑accredited program. At least 5 years of experience as a K‑12 school counselor (LSC) and/or professional counseling (LPC).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience teaching in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and School Counseling.
Essential Functions and Percent of Time
  • 80% – Teach 24 semester hours in the graduate Clinical Mental Health Counseling curriculum and School Counseling curriculum.
  • 10% – Service.
  • 10% – Graduate student advising.
