Job Summary/Basic Function: To develop and teach Electrical Engineering courses; participate in EE curriculum development and ABET accreditation process; provide academic advising to undergraduate and graduate students; and assist with departmental academic services. (Fiscal appointment)
Minimum Qualifications- Earned M.S. degree or higher by the start date in electrical engineering or a closely related field.
- Commitment to excellence in undergraduate and graduate teaching, advising and mentoring.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to provide academic advising and counseling in an ABET‑EAC‑accredited Electrical Engineering or related engineering program.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a team, plus demonstrated instructional development and delivery skills in Electrical Engineering/Computer Engineering/Physics areas.
- Ph.D. Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
- Teaching experience in a university academic setting.
Instruction and instructional support – 85%
- Develop, deliver, and assess undergraduate and graduate electrical engineering courses and laboratories, including curriculum development, instructional innovation, and supervision and mentoring of teaching assistants, as assigned.
- Participate in and support departmental and program accreditation processes, including assessment, documentation, and continuous improvement activities.
Academic advising and mentoring – 10%
- Provide academic advising and counseling to students, including mentoring and supporting academic and professional development.
- Guide and support student activities and organizations.
- Supervise undergraduate and graduate students, guiding independent study, research, and senior design projects, and providing academic and career development.
- Supervise graduate students, including academic advising, career mentoring, and oversight of assigned instructional activities.
Faculty governance and service – 5%
- Participate in departmental, college, and university committees and contribute to academic and administrative service activities.
Office and laboratory. Length of contract is one year, annually renewable. The position requires background checks as a condition of employment.
