Job Summary

Candidate will be responsible for teaching, developing, and managing curriculum in Finance, Financial Services, and the MBA program.

Responsibilities

Teach undergraduate and graduate classes in Financial Management and Financial Services with a passion for the discipline and an enthusiasm for teaching our undergraduate and MBA students.

Develop and apply practice‑oriented or scholarly research, pursue professional activities such as certifications and industry engagement, and provide service to the university and the broader community.

Applicants are expected to provide evidence of teaching excellence and demonstrated success with a diverse and multicultural student body.

Essential Functions and percent of time:
  • Teaching (60%)
    • Teach undergraduate and/or graduate courses in finance for undergraduate and MBA students.
    • Deliver instruction and maintain a learning environment consistent with highest professional standards.
    • Introduce new teaching techniques, evaluate student progress, and engage students through experiential learning and innovative practices.
    • Maintain a minimum of four regular office hours per week (maximum 30 minutes per credit hour) and be available for additional meetings.
    • Participate in development and implementation of new programs and initiatives, including curriculum development and assurance of learning.
    • Incorporate business analytics and artificial intelligence into the teaching of finance.
    • Advise, mentor, and foster student success across diverse backgrounds.
    • Assist in developing learning outcomes, curriculum maps, resource guides, textbooks, syllabi templates, and updated course materials.
  • Service (30%)
    • Engage in shared governance at school, college, and university levels.
    • Actively pursue recruitment, retention, and success of students; attend and support outreach events each semester.
    • Attend school, college, and university meetings.
    • Demonstrate active engagement and leadership in service activities supporting strategic goals.
    • Create and oversee program/industry advisory boards.
    • Represent program in regional campus meetings and special events, including open houses and orientations.
      • Leverage professional networks and create local events to increase program, college, and university brand.
  • Scholarship/Professional Activities (10%)
    • Advance knowledge through practice‑oriented research, scholarly activities (e.g., textbooks, conference papers, journal articles), and professional activities (e.g., executive education, consulting, industry partnerships).
Minimum Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in Financial Management or a closely related field (anticipated by start date).
  • Must meet AACSB classification of Practice Academic, Scholarly Practitioner, or Instructional Practitioner.
  • At least 4 years of teaching and service at the Instructor level of equivalent in higher education.
Preferred Qualifications
  • PhD (preferred).
  • Experience in Fin Tech, Quantitative finance, Banking, or Real Money Investment.
  • Knowledge of AI in finance discipline.
  • CFA certification.
  • Real‑world expertise in relevant areas of business (e.g., defense finance, financial institutions, financial planning, fintech).
