Teacher 1 – Career‑Tech Administrative Office Tech

Location:

Dayton Correctional Institute, Dayton, OH 45417.

Salary: $27.53 per hour. Full‑time position. Union: OEA/Scope.

As a Teacher in the Campus Career Technology Program, you will provide instruction and support to staff and supervise as needed. Your responsibilities include the following.

• Provides instruction in business office education (e.g., typing, general business) and individual assistance
• Assesses educational needs of inmates
• Develops lesson plans to address those needs, including individual assignments and training
• Provides instruction and individual assistance
• Administers, scores and interprets examinations and proficiency indicators
• Maintains discipline and/or security
• Counsels students concerning their performance, behavior and/or personal problems
• Attends meetings as required
• Prepares required records and reports (e.g., enrollment, grades, student progress)
• Inventories and orders supplies and materials needed
• Researches, selects and recommends new teaching materials
• Attends in‑service training sessions and workshops for professional development
• Performs other duties as assigned

• Must meet eligibility requirements for Teacher Certificate/License appropriate for career‑tech administrative office tech & grade level as assigned*;
  Teacher 1, 71371, must also have a baccalaureate degree or less per OEA agreement.
