Transition Success Specialist - Accessibility Services (Part-Time)
Position Summary
The Sinclair Transition Success Specialist provides comprehensive support services for students with intellectual disabilities, ensuring they receive appropriate accommodations and are fully integrated into the Sinclair College community. The specialist serves as a liaison among students, secondary transition counselors, instructors, and SCC academic advisors to facilitate a seamless educational experience for participants in the Comprehensive Transition and Postsecondary (CTP) program. As a resource for students, parents, faculty, and staff, the specialist shares information about disability-related needs, accommodations, and best practices for supporting student success.
The specialist collaborates with faculty and academic advisors to address disability-related concerns and assists students in developing self‑advocacy skills that promote independence and success both within and beyond the academic environment.
In the role of CTP Coordinator, the Sinclair Transition Success Specialist provides leadership and direction for the Certified Transition Program, helping to maintain program effectiveness and continuous improvement. Responsibilities include monitoring workflow, coordinating student schedules, overseeing data collection, and ensuring internal compliance with program requirements.
The hourly pay rate for this position is $30.51 and has a maximum of 28 hours per week.

- Ensure that each student has a full understanding of their own disability, and how it will impact them in dealing with all aspects of the Sinclair system, including advising on appropriate course load, career options and time management schedule
- Determine and arrange academic support services for each student. Liaison with support services and skill building
- Identify adapted educational methods and equipment that will meet each student’s needs
- Teach students to independently navigate the college environment and secure necessary accommodations throughout the Sinclair system, including effective self‑advocacy and training in use of adaptive equipment
- Monitor student progress as needed serving as advocate and troubleshooter when problems arise
- Provide workshops, and information for secondary personnel, students, parents, faculty and staff to promote an awareness of various disabling conditions and knowledge of available services
- Assist in planning events and implementation (graduation, orientation, interviews, etc.)
- Serve as liaison between students and internal and external resources, i.e., Opportunities for Ohioans with Disabilities, Access Center for Independent Living, Community Services for the Deaf, Project Mobility, Goodwill Industries, and other community‑based specialized agencies
- Refer students based on individual needs
- Complies statistical data for use in preparing for internal and external distribution
- Monitor internal compliance to policies and best practices

- Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in social and human sciences, rehabilitation or special education required
- Minimum of three years of work experience in rehabilitation, counseling, or related field required
- Extensive knowledge of college systems, policies, procedures, and campus resources to effectively support students with disabilities and address barriers to student success required
- Knowledge of disability‑related laws and regulations, including the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act, and applicable compliance requirements preferred
