Job SummaryThe School of Social Sciences and International Studies (SoSSIS) at Wright State University (WSU) invites applications for a tenure‑track position at the rank of Assistant Professor, commencing August 2027. The teaching load will focus on the Master of Public Administration program within the College of Liberal Arts, with emphasis on local government and city management. The faculty member will develop and regularly teach courses in public administration, build out the program’s online and hybrid course offerings, and contribute to related undergraduate programs.
The Master of Public Administration (MPA) is accredited by the Network of Schools of Public Policy, Affairs, and Administration (NASPAA) and offers four elective tracks:
General, Criminal Justice, Social Issues, and Community Health. Successful candidates will teach both undergraduate and graduate courses, conduct scholarly research, advise students, and engage in service activities.

- An earned doctorate in Public Administration or a closely related field anticipated by the start date.
- Teaching experience in higher education.
- Scholarship in public administration or a related field.
- Teaching experience at the graduate level.
- Experience developing online courses and programs.
- Interest in developing interdisciplinary coursework.
- Expertise in geographic information systems (GIS), non‑profit studies, public writing and communication, ethics in public service, civic literacy, or AI and data analytics.
- Ability to raise external grant dollars.
