Job Description

PARAPROFESSIONAL AIDE (Special Needs) for

Starting Salary: $18.49 per hour

• Minimum education requirement: high school diploma or equivalency. Must also meet NO CHILD LEFT BEHIND standards (Associate Degree or 48 semester credit hours or 72 quarter hours from accredited institution, or pass the Para Pro test).
• Demonstrated planning and organizational skills.
• Demonstrated effective communication skills, both oral and written.
• Demonstrated competency with state‑of‑the‑art equipment/skills, including data processing.
• Demonstrated proficiency of English reading proficiency.
• Ability to cope with stressful situations as related to special needs children.
• Appropriate handling of medical conditions per the student’s IEP.
• Physically capable of safely and appropriately lifting and managing special needs children when necessary.
