Role Description

The Montessori Teacher is a full‑time, on‑site role located in Dayton, OH. This educator will design and deliver Montessori‑based instruction aligned with Dayton Public School District curriculum standards, fostering independence, curiosity, and a love of learning. Day‑to‑day responsibilities include preparing and maintaining a structured and engaging classroom environment, guiding students through individualized and small‑group lessons, and observing and documenting student progress.

The Montessori Teacher will collaborate with colleagues and support staff, communicate regularly with families, and participate in school meetings, professional development, and district initiatives. The role also involves ensuring student safety, maintaining compliance with district policies, and supporting inclusive practices for learners with diverse needs.

Qualifications
  • Demonstrated expertise in Montessori pedagogy, including classroom management, lesson planning, and use of Montessori materials.
  • Strong instructional skills in early childhood or elementary education, with the ability to differentiate learning for diverse student needs.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills to engage with students, families, colleagues, and school leadership.
  • Organizational and documentation abilities for tracking student growth, maintaining records, and implementing curriculum with fidelity.
  • Commitment to equity, inclusion, and culturally responsive teaching in an urban school environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field; valid state teaching license or eligibility for licensure required.
  • Montessori certification from a recognized training program strongly preferred.
  • Experience working in a public school or urban educational setting is a plus.
