The Division of Business and Public Services at Sinclair Community College is currently seeking candidates for the Chairperson of the Management, Marketing, Entrepreneurship, and Business Information Systemsdepartment.
This position is open to current tenure-track or tenured Sinclair faculty only.

Principal Accountabilities

The applicant will be administratively responsible to the division dean. Specific responsibilities include:

  • Provide leadership and maintain a climate of open communication, collegiality, and teamwork within the department; actively support the professional growth and development of the department
  • Provide strong leadership for expanding student-centered learning strategies and improving student success
  • Work closely with department faculty and staff to update and maintain Continuous Improvement Targets (CITs), develop new curriculum, schedule classes, conduct learning outcomes assessment, prepare and manage the budget, and address student concerns
  • Support, supervise and evaluate the work of faculty and staff in the department
  • Actively support innovation, distance learning, and the use of technology within the learning environment
  • Collaborate with other Sinclair divisions, K-12, and four-year institutions to enhance curriculum and instruction
  • Support Business and Public Services Divisional and College-wide initiatives related to Enrollment, Assessment, and Retention; represent the department at the Division and College levels
  • Teach within the department of Management, Marketing, Entrepreneurship and Business Information Systems and meet the expectations of a tenure-track faculty member
  • Other responsibilities as listed in the Faculty Handbook

Requirements

  • Minimum of a master’s degree in business management, business information systems, or related field, OR a master’s degree with at least 18 semester credit hours of coursework in business management or business information systems required
  • Currently employed at Sinclair as a full-time, tenure track faculty member required
  • Evidence of successful administrative/supervisory experience preferred
  • Evidence of quality college teaching required
  • Knowledge of utilizing technology in the instructional process required
  • Evidence of effective interpersonal and team building skills required
  • Evidence of effective problem-solving, critical thinking, and decision making skills required
  • Ability to communicate effectively with students, faculty, staff, and administration required
