Position SummaryFor many years, “ finding the need and endeavoring to meetit” has been a way of life at Sinclair Community College.
Sinclair’sTheatre Department seeks to do just that by providing quality education from a faculty and staff of professionals in the areas of performance and theatre technology.

This position is open only to applicants who residein Ohio, Indiana, or Kentucky
, or who are able to perform work within one of these states. Sinclair Community College restrictspart-time employment to approved states due to employment, tax, and benefits compliance requirements.

- Adjunct faculty teach curriculum developed by the department
- Plan and organize instruction in ways which maximize student learning
- Prepare and provide syllabi for all assigned sections in accordance with department and divisional policies
- Employ appropriate teaching and learning strategies, useavailable instructional technology when appropriate
- Modify, where appropriate, instructional methods and strategies to meet diverse students’ needs
- Support classroom and online efforts to promote student success
Evaluate and return student work in a timely manner to promotelearning - Maintain accurate records of student progress
- Submit final grade rosters according to established deadlines
- Maintain confidentiality of student information
- Adjunct Faculty cannot be assigned to teach more than the maximum of 12 credit hours per semester
- Other duties as assigned
- Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in a related field required
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in theatre work required
- Evidence of successful prior teaching experience is preferred
- Demonstrated commitment to improving student learning through innovative strategies shown to help students succeed at the courseand program level
- Effective communication skills and interpersonal skills withthe capacity to work successfully in a culturally diverse college community
- Must possess demonstrated skills in using modern educational technology, including multimedia-based instruction
Official transcripts for all post-secondary degrees (if applicable) and successful completion of a background check will be required prior to date of hire
