Position SummaryThe Sinclair Industrial and Systems Engineering Technology concentrates on thelatest methods for making businesses more productive and profitable. As American businesses strive to be more competitive intoday’s global marketplace, it needs professionals who can maketheir companies work more efficiently and reduce costs. Sinclair is currently seeking part-time (adjunct) faculty for daytime courses to teach Flex Factor with area high school andmiddle schools within the Sinclair ecosystem.
Flex Factor is astudent-led, project-based curriculum to engage and inform students about careers in STEM and Advanced Manufacturing, utilizing:problem identification; product design and ideation; business modeling; and presentation creation and delivery.

- Adjunct faculty teach curriculum developed by the department
- Plan and organize instruction in ways which maximize student learning
- Prepare and provide syllabi for all assigned sections in accordance with department and divisional policies
- Employ appropriate teaching and learning strategies, use available instructional technology when appropriate
- Modify, where appropriate, instructional methods and strategies to meet diverse student’s needs
- Support classroom and online efforts to promote student success
- Evaluate and return student work in a timely manner to promote learning
- Maintain accurate records of student progress
- Submit final grade rosters according to established deadlines
- Maintain confidentiality of student information
- Adjunct Faculty cannot be assigned to teach more than the maximum of 12 credit hours per semester
- Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in the content area required
- Minimum of three years of working experience in the field or industry required
- Possession of a widely accepted credential, license, or certification in the field or industry preferred
- Evidence of successful prior teaching experience is preferred
Demonstrated commitment to improving student learning through innovative strategies shown to help students succeed at the courseand program level - Effective communication skills and interpersonal skills withthe capacity to work successfully in a culturally diverse college community
- Must possess demonstrated skills in using modern educational technology, including multimedia-based instruction
