If so, the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering and Engineering Mechanics at the University of Dayton, located in Dayton, OH invites you to apply for a faculty position as an Assistant Professor of Practice or Lecturer specializing in Construction Engineering and Management to begin January 2027.

The Opportunity

The University of Dayton Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering and Engineering Mechanics is seeking to fill a non-tenure-track Assistant Professor of Practice or Lecturer position to support the construction engineering and management area of study within the Department. The successful candidate will serve as the lead faculty member in the area of construction engineering and management and will be expected to teach undergraduate and graduate level courses;

lead student studies in the Department’s construction engineering and management-related laboratories; advise academically and professionally both undergraduate and graduate students; work closely with a culturally and socially diverse student population; and engage in service to the University, profession, and community. Opportunities will be available for candidates who are interested in participating in research.

This is a full-time, nine-month, renewable faculty position with full benefits expected start January 1, 2027. Typical faculty contracts are from August 16 to May 15 each year. Starting in your second year, you can elect your 9-months pay to be spread across a 12-month period, if desired. Additionally, Faculty of Practice and Lecturers may choose to participate in the university’s promotion process.
