• Develop and deliver engaging Social Studies lessons aligned to state standards and curriculum frameworks.
• Create a supportive, inclusive classroom that respects diverse perspectives and encourages active participation.
• Use primary and secondary sources, multimedia, and technology to enhance learning and encourage inquiry-based exploration.
• Assess student learning through formative and summative assessments and provide timely feedback to support growth.
• Integrate literacy, critical thinking, and analytical skills development into Social Studies instruction.
• Facilitate discussions, debates, and collaborative projects that promote civic engagement, empathy, and informed decision-making.
• Collaborate with colleagues to align Social Studies curriculum, instructional practices, and assessment strategies.
• Maintain accurate records of student progress, attendance, and behavior, and communicate effectively with families.
• Participate in professional development to grow your content knowledge, instructional skills, and cultural competency.
• Promote a positive school culture and take part in school-wide initiatives, committees, and events.

• State certification or licensure in Social Studies education.
• Highly Qualified Teacher (HQT) status in Social Studies or a related subject area.
• Bachelor's degree in Education, with a focus on Social Studies or History preferred.
• A passion for improving educational opportunities for urban students.
• Strong communication, organizational, and classroom management skills.
• Experience designing and delivering engaging Social Studies instruction, preferably in diverse classroom settings.
