Manufacturing Engineer

Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated Manufacturing Engineer to join our team in Dayton, Ohio. This full-time, on-site role focuses on optimizing manufacturing operations, improving production efficiency, and driving continuous improvement initiatives across the facility.

• Process Improvement & Optimization: Analyze, develop, and enhance manufacturing processes to increase efficiency, reduce waste, and improve product quality.
• Lead continuous improvement projects using Lean, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies.
• Utilize data-driven methods to identify bottlenecks and improvement opportunities.
• Documentation & Compliance: Develop and update standard operating procedures, work instructions, and process documentation.
• Ensure all processes comply with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
• Collaboration & Problem-Solving: Work cross-functionally with production, quality, maintenance, and engineering teams to resolve operational challenges.
• Participate in root-cause analysis and implement corrective/preventive actions.
• Equipment & Layout: Support layout optimization, workflow design, and capacity planning activities.
• Assist in equipment selection, specification, and implementation for new or upgraded production lines.

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing, or related field).
• Background in process improvement, continuous improvement, or manufacturing optimization.
• Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies preferred.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency with engineering tools such as CAD, statistical analysis software, or process-mapping tools (preferred).
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

• Experience in high-volume manufacturing environments.
• Exposure to automation, workflow redesign, or production system optimization.
• Ability to lead cross-functional teams on improvement initiatives.

The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision and the ability to adjust focus.
