We are seeking a dedicated EH&S Specialist to lead audits, inspections, and investigations, while coordinating resolutions to any issues. This role involves collaborating with management to facilitate risk management decisions, developing Lockout/Tagout procedures, and monitoring contractor safety programs. The specialist will also conduct regular walkthroughs to observe behaviors, activities, and conditions, providing coaching and mentoring to employees. The position requires delivering environmental, health, and safety trainings to ensure employee understanding and compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
Additionally, the specialist will conduct hazard assessments, ergonomic evaluations, and manage the SDS database and chemical inventory.
- Lead audits, inspections, and investigations, coordinating resolution of issues.
- Collaborate with management to facilitate risk management decisions.
- Develop and review Lockout/Tagout procedures.
- Coordinate and monitor contractor safety programs.
- Conduct walkthroughs to monitor behaviors, activities, and conditions, providing coaching and mentoring.
- Deliver environmental, health, and safety trainings.
- Conduct hazard assessments and ergonomic evaluations.
- Review new chemicals, processes, and equipment using Management Change.
- Drive investigations for incidents and accidents, ensuring timely completion of corrective actions.
- Manage SDS database and chemical inventory.
- Support SPCC, air emissions, wastewater, storm water testing, monitoring, recordkeeping, and reporting.
- Manage hazardous and medical waste programs, including documentation, inspections, handling, storage, and disposal.
- Support ISO
14001 implementation. - Identify and support continuous improvement opportunities.
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Safety Management, or Life Science Field.
- 2+ years of experience in Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS) preferred.
- Knowledge of OSHA regulations specifically 29 CFR 1910.
- High level of organizational and analytical skills.
- Proficient in using a computer and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and be self-motivated.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and changing priorities.
- Ability to work under time pressure and adapt to changing requirements with a positive attitude.
Skills & Qualifications
- Prior wastewater testing experience preferred.
- Experience in GMP, GLP, or FDA regulated environment heavily preferred.
- Ability to be self-motivated, proactive, and an effective team player.
The work environment includes a business casual dress code within a clean room setting. The role follows a standard 40-hour work week from Monday to Friday, with shifts from 8 AM to 5 PM, offering some flexibility.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Dayton, OH.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $30.00 - $41.00/hr.
