Overview
AMG is seeking an MEP Engineer with strong mechanical and plumbing design experience to support a diverse range of industrial, manufacturing, and commercial projects. This role will be responsible for the engineering, design, and coordination of mechanical, HVAC and plumbing systems while working closely with electrical engineers and other interdisciplinary teams.
AMG accommodates flexible schedules and hybrid work options, but the MEP Engineer must live within 50 miles of our Dayton Headquarters.

Required Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering discipline
- Professional Engineer (PE) license required or actively on track to obtain licensure
- 5+ years of MEP engineering experience, with demonstrated strength in both mechanical and plumbing systems
- Working knowledge of electrical systems sufficient for interdisciplinary coordination
- Proficiency in standard engineering calculation tools
- Solid understanding of applicable codes (IMC, IPC/UPC, ASHRAE, local AHJs)
- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
- Experience with industrial and manufacturing facilities
- Familiarity with process utilities, specialty systems, or technically complex environments
- Experience working with an engineering consulting firm
- Design and engineer mechanical and plumbing systems, including HVAC, domestic water, sanitary, storm, process piping, and specialty systems as applicable
- Perform system sizing, load calculations, layouts, and equipment selection in accordance with applicable codes and standards
- Prepare construction documents, specifications, and design narratives from concept through construction
- Coordinate MEP designs with internal engineering teams and clients
- Review and respond to submittals, RFIs, and construction-phase engineering questions
- Support quality control efforts and ensure consistency across project deliverables
- Participate in client meetings and serve as a technical resource for mechanical and plumbing design matters
- Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineering and design staff
