Job SummaryWSU's Department of Mechanical and Materials Engineering is accepting applications for an adjunct teaching position in technical communications for the academic year. This position is for an instructor of an undergraduate required course, Technical Communications for Engineers and Computer Scientists. This course covers both oral and written communications. The course is part of the Wright State Core, and as such, it covers academic writing, including locating, integrating, and correctly citing source material in technical documents, such as recommendation reports and technical proposals.
Minimum Qualifications- Professional experience or academic qualifications including technical writing, with an emphasis on engineering and scientific writing including technical reports, journal articles, and technical proposals.
- Candidates with specific training in English, professional writing, or technical communication must have experience writing or editing content related to engineering and computer science.
- Candidates with training in engineering or computer science must have specific experience writing technical reports, journal articles, and/or technical proposals.
- Familiarity with citation styles used in engineering and computer science.
- At least one year of teaching or professional experience.
- Applicant must possess a master's degree.
- Graduate degree in professional writing or technical communications.
- Experience writing or editing technical proposals.
- Teaching – 100% of time.
