The salary range for this position including the Dayton, OH locality is (DR-02 $ 91,653 - $143,917).

Duties- Plans, leads, manages, and conducts research and advanced development in radio frequency (RF) technology.
- Performs in-house and/or contracted research that advances the state-of-the-art for all-weather strike, intelligence, reconnaissance and surveillance radars and intelligence sensors.
- Plans and conducts characterization and testing of RF Systems in support of various DoD customers. Specific areas of expertise include advanced research and development in RF sensor components, signal processing and radar design, test & evaluation, analysis, and data collection.
- Independently conducts detailed scientific studies and investigations on complex scientific problems and writes and/or coauthors technical reports on results of investigations.
- Studies and evaluates engineering and analysis submitted by academia and contractor personnel and renders scientific judgment.
- Provides technical oversight to AF sponsored technical efforts.
- Represents the Air Force Research Laboratory to outside organizations.

- Position will be filled using an occupational series within the SCIENTIST AND ENGINEERING career field. The applicant must be able to meet the OPM Qualification Standards for the position being filled. - Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade DR-01, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience include work with radar systems and test equipment.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a TOP SECRET SCI security clearance.
- This position is an Acquisition Professional Development Program (APDP) position requiring Level/Tier 2 (Practitioner) Non-Critical certification in Engineering & Technical Management (N); experience requirement is 4 years; and the selectee will have 60-months to meet APDP requirements or a waiver must be obtained.

- This is a drug testing designated position. The incumbent will be subject to random testing.
- Ability to perform TDY travel approximately 10% of the time.
- Experience in managing highly technical contracted projects.
- Experience in coordination of classified projects and facilities.
- Technical expertise in Testing and Evaluation of RF sensor systems and related technologies.
- Experience working on matrixed teams or Integrated Product Teams (IPT's).
- Excellent verbal, oral, and written communication skills for technical and senior leader audiences.
- Experience in designing radar experiments, data collection and analysis
- Experience in radar sensing systems
- Knowledge of antenna theory
- Knowledge in building RF circuits
- Knowledge of SAR and Moving Target Indication
- Knowledge of Passive RF Systems
