Packaging Engineer

We are seeking a highly analytical and collaborative Packaging Engineer to join our team and take ownership of how we protect our large-scale, high-value cooling units. This is a new, critical role where you will be the resident expert, tasked with evaluating our current packaging methods, identifying areas for improvement, and designing robust solutions that ensure our products arrive flawlessly. • Analyze and Optimize: Evaluate current packaging materials and methods for our large, bulky cooling units, identifying root causes of any shipping damage and implementing effective, cost-saving solutions.
• Design with Precision: Utilize CAD software to design and develop new packaging structures, creating detailed bills of materials and ensuring designs meet rigorous structural integrity standards.
• Collaborate Cross-Functional: Work closely with production, shipping, accounting, and manufacturing engineering teams to ensure packaging solutions are practical, efficient, and seamlessly integrated into our operations.
• Mitigate Risk: Proactively identify potential packaging failures and develop risk mitigation strategies, presenting your findings and proposals clearly to internal stakeholders.

• A Bachelor's degree in Packaging Engineering or related engineering degree.
• 2 to 6+ years of experience in packaging engineering, specifically dealing with large, bulky, or fragile machinery and equipment.
• Strong skills in CAD packaging design software and a solid understanding of various packaging materials (corrugated, wood, plastic, etc.).
