Position: Biomedical Equipment Technician I

Position contingent upon successful award of a contract under bid.

The Biomedical Equipment Technician (BMET) performs inspections, calibrations, diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs on medical and non‑medical support equipment, ensuring compliance with OEM guidance, DoD instructions, regulations, and unit directives.

Responsibilities
  • Follow OEM guidance, AFI, regulations, and unit direction.
  • Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and calibration of biomedical equipment.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot malfunctions, perform repairs, or coordinate with vendors.
  • Maintain detailed service records of repairs, maintenance actions, and evaluations.
  • Assist in installation and configuration of new biomedical equipment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications Necessary Skills and Knowledge
  • Basic knowledge of biomedical equipment operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
  • Familiarity with electrical and mechanical systems related to medical devices.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow technical manuals and safety guidelines.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a healthcare team.
  • Effective communication skills to provide technical support and document service activities.
Minimum Qualifications
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Graduate from the DoD Biomedical Maintenance Course, an accredited civilian Biomedical Maintenance Course, or the Planmecca digital dental course.
  • Minimum 2 years of field experience in inspections, calibrations, diagnostics, and repairs within OEM guidance.
  • Must be able to pass client background screening for a security clearance.
  • Travel may be required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Associate or bachelor degree in a related field.
