Job Description
HII – Mission Technologies is looking for an Experience Electromagnetic Environment Effect (EEE) Subject Matter Expert (SME) who will support implementation of Air Force Integrity Programs by assisting with execution of the USAF Airworthiness process per MIL‑HDBK‑516 and the AF Life‑Cycle Systems Engineering (LCSE) and Operational Safety, Suitability, and Effectiveness (OSS&E) processes as prescribed by AFMCI 63‑1201.
Candidate must have a minimum of a Secret clearance currently and the ability to obtain a TS/SCI.
Position is located at Wright‑Patterson AFB, Ohio.
The Electromagnetic Environment Effects (EEE) SME candidate must have the knowledge and experience evaluating MIL‑HDBK‑516 Section 13 on ACAT I or equivalent aircraft development programs to include:
- Direct and indirect lightning susceptibility
- Conducted and radiated emission susceptibility, transient susceptibility, electromagnetic compatibility, electromagnetic interference, electromagnetic pulses, electrical bonding and grounding, hazards of electromagnetic radiation to personnel, fuel and ordnance, and EEE safety margins for electro‑explosive devices
This individual will:
- Support development and review of the full range of documentation and products required by DoDI 5000.02.
- Support requirements development, allocation, and verification.
- Support review and evaluation of weapon system design, analyses, and verification documentation and reports.
- Gather and develop technical and business data necessary to build and, as required, present program briefs.
- Support program meetings, working groups, and technical and business reviews as needed.
- Analyze equipment and software performance deficiencies and make recommendations for corrective actions.
- Support development of contract and documentation changes and updates.
- Support source selections in a technical advisory role as requested
- 15 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 13 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; 10 years relevant experience with PhD or Juris Doctorate in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 19 years relevant experience.
- Ten (10) of these years must be broad, proven experience in government or industry leadership roles on major ACAT I aircraft development programs with at least two (2) years SAP experience.
- Experience in RF, High Power Microwaves, communication equipment, basic antenna knowledge, lightning (direct and indirect), high altitude Electromagnetic Pulse (just the electrical effects and electromagnetic coupling, understanding shielded volumes and attenuation).
- Experienced with MIL STD 3032 and statistics and sampling.
- Must be able to teach basic electromagnetic topics.
- Expert knowledge of the EEE airworthiness certification process.
- Experience in engineering principles, criteria, and procedures to Air Force systems, subsystems, and equipment procurement activities, post award project/program management tasks, and acquisition programs throughout their life cycles.
- Five (5) years of experience performing EEE airworthiness evaluations.
- Knowledge of DO‑160, MIL‑STD 461 and MIL‑STD 464.
- Experience with Low Observables.
- Basic Radar Signal processing.
- Able to read and interpret Government requirements.
- Electromagnetic Airworthiness.
- HEMP testing.
- Bayesian statistics.
- Desire and ability to learn technical challenging topics.
- Ability to communicate well with PhD's and leadership.
- Excel and Word skills.
