HII Mission Technologies Division (HII‑MT) is seeking an FPGA Engineer in Dayton, Ohio, to design, implement, and optimize FPGA‑based solutions for cutting‑edge projects in domains such as signal processing.
This position is located at Wright Patterson Air Force Base (WPAFB), Ohio and is within commuting distance of Beavercreek, Fairborn, Dayton, and Riverside.
Responsibilities include technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk analysis, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems. Responsibilities also involve functional and timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation, interface definition studies, and translating customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.
Minimum Qualifications- 5 years relevant experience with a Bachelor’s in a related field; 3 years with a Master’s; 0 years with a PhD or JD; or High School Diploma with 9 years relevant experience.
- Interest in either Radar or Electronic Warfare System design and/or testing.
- Tasking includes RF chain analysis and radar system performance analysis, as well as all aspects of test execution.
- Interest in EW and Radar Signal Processing Techniques, Sensor System Integration and Test, and Electronic Warfare and Radar Performance Analysis Tools such as MATLAB is required.
- Hands‑on test, integration, and verification support across lab facilities requiring skills in algorithms, software, hardware, and networking.
- Support technical publications in developing customer releases, test planning, test procedures, and test reports.
- Support technical and functional leadership through the identification of risk.
- Must be willing to travel for extended periods; deployment times typically last between two and three weeks.
- Must be able to bend, reach, stoop and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Must be able and willing to work outside in adverse weather conditions.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI security clearance with advanced security checks.
- Secret clearance minimum to start.
May require working in an office, industrial, shipboard, or laboratory environment. Capable of climbing ladders and tolerating confined spaces and extreme temperature variances.
