LHH Recruitment Solutions is currently seeking an experienced Engineering Consultant to support a manufacturing operation. This role is ideal for an engineering professional with a strong background in equipment evaluation, quality improvement, and automation, who is looking to make an impact in a fast-paced production environment. The ideal candidate will bring a hands-on, analytical approach while supporting initiatives that drive operational efficiency, product quality, and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities- Evaluate manufacturing equipment and processes to identify performance gaps, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement.
- Serve as a technical resource for engineering and operations teams, providing guidance on equipment, automation, and process optimization.
- Lead and support continuous improvement initiatives focused on quality, throughput, and cost reduction.
- Analyze production data and quality metrics to identify trends and recommend corrective actions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement process improvements and standardize best practices.
- Support automation projects, including equipment upgrades, system integrations, and new technology implementation.
- Assist with root cause analysis and corrective action planning for quality and equipment-related issues.
- Review and optimize manufacturing workflows to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance product consistency.
- Ensure compliance with engineering standards, safety regulations, and quality requirements.
- Document findings, recommendations, and project updates for leadership and key stakeholders.
- 5+ years of engineering experience within a manufacturing environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical, or related field).
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, equipment, and automation systems.
- Experience with continuous improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, etc.).
- Proven ability to analyze data and drive process and quality improvements.
- Familiarity with PLCs, robotics, or automated production systems is a plus.
- Strong problem-solving skills with experience in root cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work across multiple teams.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a dynamic manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and engineering or data analysis tools.

Starting at: $50/hour based on experience
