Senior Mass Properties Engineer
As a Senior Mass Properties Engineer, you will serve as a technical authority in mass properties, overseeing multiple projects and driving innovation. You will mentor engineering teams and ensure the integration of mass properties data into the design and development of aerospace systems.
Responsibilities- Provide technical leadership for mass properties calculations and analyses.
- Lead and coordinate multi-disciplinary engineering teams.
- Oversee comprehensive mass properties testing and validation.
- Inventory and weigh aircraft.
- Serve as a subject matter expert in design reviews and technical discussions.
- Develop and implement mass properties best practices and standards.
- Foster relationships with clients, suppliers, and industry partners.
- Identify and pursue opportunities for innovation and improvement.
- Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
- 10+ years of relevant experience.
- Higher level relevant degree may substitute for experience.
- Thorough knowledge of engineering principles and practices.
- Experience with Computer Aided Engineering tools.
- Experience working in multi-disciplinary design & development teams.
- Master’s degree or Ph.D. in Aerospace Engineering.
- Knowledge of industry standard aerospace principles, to include, but not limited to, parametric design, model-based definition, fundamentals of flight mechanics.
- Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry, US Department of Defense and/or US Military.
- Ability to work at a computer for extended periods.
- May require lifting up to 25 lbs occasionally.
- Ability to travel up to 10%.
- Work in an office, lab, hangar, or hybrid environment.
- May be required to occasionally climb stairs or ladders.
