Provide local technical planning assistance for capturing, modeling, and analyzing study area information, geographical resources, spatial and tabular data to inform and create plans for site and/or linear utility projects in the Midwest. Tasks include supporting siting and routing studies, site visits, public open houses, preparing field maps, processing ecological data, and creating plan maps for environmental plans and permits.
Responsibilities- Plan, execute, and lead siting and routing studies for various energy industry projects.
- Gather background data, prepare siting and routing maps, document findings for clients and agencies, participate in meetings and public open house meetings, conduct windshield surveys, and document the siting process into a defensible report.
- Liaise with governmental agencies, clients, and team members.
- Support siting reports documenting the siting process and justifications for selected sites or routes.
- Provide guidance on state filing requirements and write components for public utility applications.
- Utilize ArcGIS to support siting, ecological and environmental permitting projects, analyzing and managing data for team members and clients.
- Prepare data visualizations such as maps, tables, charts, accurate reports, and illustrations.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Urban Planning, Environmental Planning, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 0–1 years of experience conducting siting and routing studies, preferably in Ohio and surrounding states.
- 0–1 years of experience with ESRI's ArcGIS platform.
- Familiarity with routing/siting studies and analyses, and preparing associated reports.
- Excellent technical writing skills, clear communicator, teamwork ability, and attention to detail.
- Commitment to timely completion of high‑quality work, often independently motivated.
- Willingness to travel for site visits and attend public open house meetings.
- High motivation, positive attitude, willingness to learn and take on responsibility.
- Track record of upholding workplace safety and adherence to health, safety and anti‑harassment policies.
- Availability for schedules that may extend beyond typical workweek.
- Travel may be required depending on project‑specific requirements.
- 1–3 years of experience conducting siting and routing studies, preferably in Ohio and surrounding states.
- 1–3 years of experience with ESRI's ArcGIS platform.
- Experience preparing applications for submittal to the Ohio Power Siting Board (OPSB), Kentucky Public Utilities Commission (PUC), and other states.
- Previous consulting experience.
- Experience with both Arc Map and ArcGIS Pro.
- Relationships and understanding of requirements for utility companies in Ohio and surrounding states.

CompensationExpected Salary (Cleveland, OH): $50,400 – 75,600. WSP USA reserves the right to pay more or less than the posted range and offer additional benefits and other compensation.
