Regulatory Compliance Specialist
Position Overview
Position for a full‑time traveling assignment supporting an Advanced Technology project, which includes our Data Center, Pharmaceutical, Industrial/Manufacturing, and EV/Battery/Renewables market segment groups (MSG).
Location:
Grand Rapids, MI 49501, USA.
Minimum experience:
10 years.
Travel: 100%.
Key Responsibilities- Manage and make decisions related to scheduling, delivery, logistics, quality control, and staffing levels for mechanical and electrical work.
- Coordinate among assigned trades to promote a coordinated project operation; resolve local area problems regarding procedures, precedence, design clarifications, labor and equipment, schedule and other appropriate matters.
- Manage the overall site safety program, ensuring subcontractor compliance with company standards and all applicable safety codes and regulations.
- Supervise and develop assistant superintendents, field engineers, interns, and trade labor, including performance appraisals.
- Ensure strict adherence to ethics and compliance requirements at all times.
- Create schedules, determine sequencing of work, and develop recovery strategies to maintain project schedule and budget.
- Communicate with owners, architects, and engineers regarding field issues; investigate and resolve such issues.
- Manage the billing process for work in place, oversee monthly estimates of work completed, payrolls, material invoices, and subcontractor payment applications.
- Ensure work is installed in compliance with approved contract documents.
- Coordinate mechanical and electrical systems, equipment, and piping layouts with the engineer for all trades on a master coordination set of drawings and 3D models; obtain approval from architects and engineers.
- Lead inspections, startups, commissioning, turnover, and training processes, and punch list required for acceptance and handover of all systems.
- Direct subcontractors and suppliers to ensure conformance with plans, specifications, local and national codes.
- Review project changes with the project engineer.
- Maintain detailed daily records of MEPS trade contractors' work progress.
- Participate in preconstruction efforts such as constructability and logistics analysis.
Bachelor's degree or at least four years of formal engineering or architectural experience and a minimum of six years of mechanical, electrical, plumbing construction experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience. Knowledge of building construction methods, scheduling and cost control procedures, general contract and subcontract documents, drawings, specifications and scopes of work. Specific knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems.
Thorough knowledge of building information modeling (BIM) and its use in coordinating mechanical, electrical, and other project systems. Proven written and verbal communication abilities; proficiency with Microsoft Office and other computer applications. Ability to read and interpret contract documents, drawings, specifications, scopes of work and project schedules. Demonstrated leadership and interpersonal skills.
Requires ability to climb permanent and temporary stairs, use construction personnel hoists, climb ladders, negotiate work areas, and lift up to 75 pounds. Requires close, peripheral, and depth vision, clear focus, and use of hands for tools and controls. Duties include sitting, talking, hearing, standing, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling.
Work EnvironmentWork is performed on‑site at construction locations; exposure to moving mechanical parts, high or precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, outside weather conditions, and risk of electrical shock. Noise levels are typically moderate to very loud. May perform additional duties as assigned.
