Mechanical Engineer
Selectek is looking for a Mechanical Engineer with experience designing custom automation and robotic systems from concept through manufacturing. This role involves creating detailed machine designs, pneumatic and hydraulic schematics, BOMs, and providing hands-on support during equipment assembly and startup. The ideal candidate has strong 3D CAD experience, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to manage projects while collaborating with cross-functional teams.
Required:
- 2-3 years (or more) of experience in a related field
- At least an Associate's degree
- Ability to travel throughout North America (less than 10%)
- Understanding of pneumatics systems
- Understanding of industry safety requirements and design practices
- Experience with design and troubleshooting of hydraulic systems
- Experience designing w/ Solid Edge or Solid Works
- Experience with AutoCAD design (or similar 2D)
- Experience with 3D design
- Project Management experience
Job Details:
This position requires an individual to be able to design and debug specialty machines. Most of the design work will focus on robotic systems and their peripheral equipment. Design tasks will include overall machine design, assembly details, pneumatic schematics, hydraulic schematics, and generating BOM's. In addition, the position will require the engineer to provide support to machinists and assemblers during the build phase of the project.
The ideal candidate will be organized, flexible to the needs of the customer, be able to travel throughout North America, and have excellent communication skills.
Job Responsibilities:
- Design equipment from a concept to manufacturing detail prints
- Complete bill of materials and support purchasing activities
- Write equipment operations manuals
- Conduct and document risk assessment of equipment
- Other projects or duties as required
- Support machinists and assemblers
Salary Range: $70,000 - $100,000 depending on experience and education
