Responsibilities:
Step into a role where your engineering leadership directly influences major aerospace initiatives. In this position, you will guide complex mechanical engineering efforts that shape next-generation technology and support high-visibility programs.
* Lead and manage complex mechanical engineering projects from concept through execution, ensuring technical excellence and on-time delivery.

* Provide expert-level guidance in the design, development, and refinement of advanced mechanical systems.

* Perform high-level analyses, simulations, and design evaluations to drive optimal performance and reliability.

* Mentor, coach, and elevate junior engineers, strengthening the team's technical depth and engineering rigor.

* Prepare, review, and present detailed technical documentation, analyses, and reports to support decision-making and project milestones.

* Collaborate closely with internal teams, cross-functional partners, and external stakeholders to ensure alignment, progress, and overall program success. Qualifications You Must Have:
You'll bring deep engineering expertise and the leadership skills needed to support a high-impact environment with complex technical challenges.
* Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.

* 10+ years of experience in mechanical engineering or a related technical discipline.

* A higher-level relevant degree may substitute for experience.

* Expert knowledge of mechanical design principles and proficiency with industry-standard CAD tools.

* Strong understanding of core engineering principles and their application in real-world environments.

* Experience with Computer-Aided Engineering (CAE) tools.

* Demonstrated success collaborating within multi-disciplinary design and development teams. Qualifications We Prefer:
* Master's or PhD in a related field.

* Experience applying and interpreting Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) per ASME Y14.5

* Understanding of Engineering Simulation such as Finite Element structural analysis (FEA), Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) and Thermal Analysis

* Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry

* Knowledge of industry-standard mechanical design principles, to include, but not limited to parametric design, model-based definition, material hardware selection, manufacturing, and production processes

* Knowledge of environmental requirements for components utilized in aircraft and space applications

* Experience providing technical guidance to a diverse team of engineers on issues related to mechanical engineering

Essential Functions:

* Ability to work on a computer for extended periods.

* Occasional travel may be required.

* Ability to work in an office or hybrid environment.

* Applying systematic and logical problem-solving techniques to develop mechanical designs

* Clearly convey technical information, design specifications, and project updates to team members, stakeholders, and management
