Astrion has an exciting opportunity for an AVIONICS INTEGRATION ENGINEER located at the WRIGHT PATTERSON AFB in DAYTON, OH.

The Avionics Integration Engineer will provide integration support to the F-15 Division. The F-15 Division is responsible for management and professional services, engineering and technical services, and studies, analyses and evaluations to accomplish the unit's mission to design, develop, integrate, test, produce, deploy, modernize, sustain and support U.S. and FMS F-15 fighter aircraft weapon systems and subsystems.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS

  • Master's or Doctorate Degree in a related field and ten years of experience in the respective technical/professional discipline being performed, five (5) years of which must be in the DoD.
  • OR, Bachelor's Degree in a related field and 12 years of experience in the respective technical/professional discipline being performed, five of which must be in the DoD.
  • OR, 15 years of directly related experience with proper certifications as described in the PWS labor category performance requirements, eight (8) of which must be in the DoD.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS

  • Contractor shall have knowledge of radar theory and principles, and an understanding of the radar design, development, and implementation process is required. Expected activities include providing technical advice and serving as the technical interface between the Government customers and the radar manufacturers, interacting with customers, participating in meetings, and producing technical detailed products.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Serve as an avionics engineer supporting integration of radar, electronic warfare sensors, aircraft avionics systems, software, and related airborne or ground-based capabilities.
  • Develop, review, and update avionics engineering documentation, including system/subsystem specifications, technical requirements, milestone review materials, and supporting engineering documents.
  • Support hardware and software development, integration, installation planning, technical reviews, test plan reviews, and system, subsystem, and component testing.
  • Conduct engineering analyses and trade studies related to system design feasibility, system capacity, architecture alternatives, performance, cost, risk, schedule, producibility, maintainability, supportability, and reliability.
  • Support ground and flight test activities, including hardware-in-the-loop testing, subsystem integration labs, developmental and operational T&E, radar performance testing, test procedure development, test witnessing, and test report preparation.
  • Provide technical expertise in radar, EW, CNS/ATM, AIMS, spectrum management, avionics interfaces, signal/data processing, threat analysis, EMI/ECM environments, and certification/compliance requirements.
