SUMMARY

The Entertainment Manager is a full time position focused on creating a fun, family friendly experience for Dayton Dragons fans. This position requires great attention to detail, excellent communication skills, creativity, organization and the ability to recruit, hire, train, lead, and manage a staff of over 50 hosts, mascots, green team, and tech crew. This position is responsible for brainstorming, researching and developing new and exciting skits and elements for games and special events.

It also requires coordination and execution of other events at Day Air Ballpark including sponsor events, concerts, and other sporting events.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Assist with the recruitment, hiring, onboarding, and training of Green Team members, mascots, characters, and game hosts.
  • Coordinate and execute entertainment segments from Gates Open through the conclusion of each event.
  • Research entertainment trends through television, radio, live events, sports, and digital media, and contribute ideas for fan engagement and in-game entertainment.
  • Coordinate and serve as the primary point of contact for entertainment groups, including the Retirement Village People and other performers.
  • Assist in the development, organization, and maintenance of props, costumes, skits, promotions, and contests.
  • Conduct rehearsals and training sessions and oversee the execution of entertainment activities during Dragons games.
  • Coordinate logistics and communication for outside entertainment acts, such as Zooperstars, Birdzerk, and other specialty performers.
  • Prepare employee work schedules and assist with payroll review and processing.
  • Monitor entertainment department expenses and assist with budget tracking and administration.
  • Coordinate national anthem performers and manage related game-day logistics at Day Air Ballpark.
  • Plan and execute entertainment elements for special events at Day Air Ballpark, including movie nights, sporting events, concerts, and other community events.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure entertainment activities align with organizational goals and enhance the overall fan experience.
