Responsibilities
This is a multi-task position that provides services to one of the following Finance divisions:
Treasury, Compliance and Collections, Customer Contact Center, Financial Analysis, Meter Reading & Billing and Payroll & Disbursement. The incumbent will review with citizens their city income tax returns, audit tax returns and also provide interpretation of the municipal tax law. Maintain daily balances and troubleshoot on all operating budget codes, receivables, payment vouchers, warrants, encumbrances, reimbursements of funds, and transfer of monies.
Audit all financial transactions including payroll vouchers. Ensures funds have been properly appropriated and recorded.
Must meet one of the following:
- High school diploma or G.E.D. AND 3 years of experience in accounting or bookkeeping AND three years of experience in communications, customer service and administrative support.
- One year of experience as a Finance Technician I
- Two years of college AND 2 years of experience in accounting or bookkeeping AND 2 years of experience in a communications or customer service area.
Must have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
