The Financial Management Support Specialist will support NAMRU-D financial management, procurement documentation, Government Purchase Card Program actions, Navy financial systems, accounting reports, and budget tracking. The position is based onsite at Naval Medical Research Unit Dayton (NAMRU-D), Wright‑Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio. Responsibilities include the following:
JOB DESCRIPTION- Review and prepare contracting and Government Purchase Card Program (GPCP) actions using GEARS and Navy financial systems.
- Update command financial tracking Excel workbooks and perform data entry into Navy financial systems.
- Run daily accounting and budget reports and research reporting discrepancies.
- Obtain supporting documentation to resolve unmatched disbursements, unliquidated obligations, transaction errors, and related financial issues.
- Reconcile command financial tracking workbooks and organize, review, manage, and electronically file command financial documents.
- Support procurement documentation completeness, audit readiness, and timely updates to financial records.
- Communicate clearly with command personnel and support accurate, timely financial data for management review.
- Associate degree in business, finance, or a related field required.
- Two (2) years of relevant experience in financial, accounting, and/or business operations.
- Experience running queries and reports from financial systems.
- Proficient in updating financial tracking Excel workbooks and performing data entry into financial systems.
- Knowledge of the Government Purchase Card Program.
- Proficient with Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office Suite programs, especially Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent interpersonal, oral communication, and written communication skills.
- Must qualify for CAC issuance and IT access and comply with DoD, DoN, NAMRU‑D, cybersecurity, and OPSEC requirements.
