The Air Force Materiel Command (AFMC), National Museum of the United States Air Force (NMUSAF) at Wright‑Patterson Air Force Base near Dayton, OH is looking for a full‑time LEAD AUDIO/VISUAL SPECIALIST.

Position Grade: NH‑1001‑III – Typical 2026 Salary Range: $93,461 – $144,481 (including locality pay).

Responsibilities

In this role you will serve as the Lead Audio‑Visual Specialist and provide audio‑visual support services in the National Museum of the United States Air Force, Operations Division. You will:

  • Oversee and assist the daily operations of the high‑visibility public portion of the museum complex.
  • Provide expertise in historical property and indicate display locations for the public.
  • Ensure the safety of employees and visitors during any emergency situations.

  • U.S. Citizenship.
  • Obtain and maintain a Security clearance.

Skills and Abilities
  • Extensive knowledge and demonstrated experience with audiovisual (AV) systems (Blackmagic equipment, Shure wireless systems, teleconferencing platforms, mixer boards, Mult boxes, etc.) and ability to integrate multiple systems for seamless, high‑production events.
  • Strong understanding of communication and IT technologies, applicable regulations, and safeguarding government systems from unauthorized access.
  • Proven history of delivering exceptional customer service, preferably supporting high-ranking Distinguished Visitors, senior leadership, or foreign diplomats.
  • Experience managing and maintaining security systems (Axis Communication equipment, Diebold Alarms, Symplex Alarms, proximity card access control, etc.) and writing, executing, and managing government contracts related to IT security and AV programs.
  • Leadership ability to identify, distribute, and balance workload among team members, adjusting priorities to ensure timely accomplishment of assigned tasks.
