Duties include, but are not limited to:
* Plans and delivers knowledge-based care to Veterans in alignment with the ANA Standards of Nursing Practice by establishing a trust-based nurse/Veteran rapport.
* Completes orientation according to expected standards.
* Manages workload as assigned, organizes, and completes own assignments in an efficient and appropriate manner.
* Participates in the development, implementation, and evaluation of interdisciplinary care.
* Demonstrates clinical competence in performing core and practice-specific procedures according to the Unit Based Competencies for the mental health unit.
* Maintains current BLS, responds to codes, and participates when directed.
* Adherence to all VA Directives, Medical Center Policies, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), manufacturer procedures, and all accrediting bodies related to Nursing Practice, Veteran's Rights & HIPAA. If violations are found, they will be reported.
* Establishes a therapeutic relationship, allowing the patient to attain, maintain or regain optimal function through assessment and treatment.
* Develops self as a Veteran advocate while reinforcing Veterans' legal rights.
* Engages patients, families, and other caregivers to incorporate knowledge, values, and beliefs into care planning without judgement or discrimination.
* Patient teaching on medications, healthy living habits, rights and responsibilities, and individual goals will be offered and reenforced.
* Uses available resources and sound clinical judgement to achieve results.
* Demonstrates positive, effective communication skills and professional behaviors that promote cooperation and teamwork with internal and external customers.
* Participates in unit based educational activities and continuing education requirements.
* Responsible for maintaining competency to continue personal and professional growth.
* Participates in unit-based activities to improve and deliver cost effective patient care.
* Demonstrates knowledge of specific unit level performance improvement activities.
* All other duties as assigned.

Pay:
Competitive salary, regular salary increases, potential for performance awards
