Responsibilities & Requirements

The Patient Educator position duties include, but are not limited to the following:

* Assist the Community Outreach Department with organizing, implementing and maintaining wellness activities by utilizing their professional knowledge and experience as it relates to their field of expertise

* Regularly participate in and promote wellness programs, including public presentations, with concentration on health promotion, disease prevention, screenings and lifestyle modification

* The Patient Educator will refer clients as needed to KH physicians and services and will track and measure outcomes as mandated

* Will act as the liaison at events and will promote and use service lines in the development of programs specifically designed to meet the needs of the community

* The Patient Educator will regularly enhance knowledge base by staying current in health information provided by nationally recognized health organizations

* The Patient Educator is highly motivated with the ability to work independently of others

* Regularly participates in and promotes wellness programs, including public presentations, with concentration on health promotion, disease prevention, screenings and lifestyle modification

Job Requirements

* Associate's degree

* Registered Nurse (Current Ohio nursing license)

* Current BLS /CPR certification

* One or more years of medical office experience

* Minimum of six months clinical nursing experience

* Computer literate and very strong with Excel, Word and Outlook

* Requires the ability to lift 30-50 pounds as needed

Preferred Qualifications

* Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)

* Public speaking, teaching and/or mentoring experience

* Previous experience in Community Health, Health Promotion, or Social Work

* Excellent organization and communication skills
