Position Summary

The Corporate MDS Nurse provides oversight, support, and guidance to facility MDS coordinators to ensure accurate, timely, and compliant completion of the Minimum Data Set (MDS) and all related processes. This role focuses on quality assurance, regulatory compliance, reimbursement optimization, and staff development across multiple locations in Ohio, Florida and Kentucky.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide corporate-level oversight of the MDS and RAI process across assigned facilities.
  • Audit MDS assessments for accuracy, coding integrity, timeliness, and compliance with state and federal regulations.
  • Support facility teams with complex coding questions and regulatory interpretations.
  • Collaborate with DONs, Administrators, Therapy, and Billing to ensure accurate case-mix and reimbursement outcomes.
  • Train, mentor, and develop MDS nurses, new coordinators, and interdisciplinary teams.
  • Monitor and analyze quality measures, Five-Star data, and trends to support improved clinical outcomes.
  • Assist with implementing corporate policies, standardized processes, and educational tools.
  • Provide on-site and virtual support during surveys, mock surveys, and corrective action plans.
  • Participate in corporate meetings and contribute to strategic planning regarding clinical reimbursement.
Qualifications
  • RN license in good standing; multi-state license preferred.
  • Minimum 2–3 years of MDS/RAI experience; RAC-CT certification strongly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of PDPM, Medicare, Medicaid, and state-specific reimbursement systems.
  • Excellent auditing, teaching, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to travel to assigned facilities as needed.
  • High attention to detail, strong communication skills, and comfort with data systems.
