JOB TITLE
Home Health Aide / CHHA - CNA - STNA / DODD DSP / In-Home Caregiver / Family Caregiver
JOB LOCATIONSWe are hiring caregivers in the following counties:
- Athens, Brown, Holmes, Huron, Jackson, Mahoning, Pike, Portage, Scioto, Trumball, Warren, Washington, and possible adjacent counties as needed.
Customizable. We'll build a schedule that fits your availability, whether that’s on weekdays or weekends, daytime, evenings, or nights, or a hybrid.
EMPLOYMENT TYPEFull-time or Part-time.
- HCN prioritizes long‑term employment for home care professionals seeking Part‑time or Full‑time positions, ensuring consistent, familiar care for our clients.
- Long‑term employment opportunities in Part‑time, Full‑time, Overtime, and PRN HHA positions.
- Occasionally, short‑term or temporary PRN/on‑call/backup and Locum Tenens positions may be created for the right candidate.
- Part‑time candidates may add additional clients/shifts up to 40 hours per week (if desired).

- No requirement for on‑call shifts, extensive travel, or unwanted overtime.
- Weekly pay every Friday including onboarding, training, and an additional 8 hours on your first paycheck.

- 1+ year of verifiable experience in home care or caregiving.
- Successful completion of HCN's written skills test/competency evaluation.
- Completed all state-required training or certifications in the service area.
- CPR and First Aid certifications (active/current preferred, can be obtained prior to hire).
- Physical ability and willingness to perform main tasks safely.
- Willingness to perform light housekeeping in addition to patient care.
- Strong track record of attendance, dependability, and employment retention.
- Good interpersonal skills and compassion.
- Ability to read, write, and follow a written Plan of Care, document notes, and communicate with the agency.
- Professional traits: reliable, honest, punctual, articulate, compassionate, detail‑oriented, accountable, respectful, self‑driven, problem‑solver, compliant, confidential.
- At least 18 years of age.
- Valid driver’s license/ reliable transportation.
- Consent to and ability to pass state and/or federal background check.
- 3–5 years of paid experience in a home health or caregiving setting.
- Experience with a Home Health Agency.
- Formal certification such as CHHA, CNA, STNA, or equivalent (HCN will train non‑certified caregivers).
- Specialized certifications: DODD‑DSP, Med Certification, EMR/EHR, etc.
- EMR/EHR proficiency (Continu Link especially desirable).
- Willingness to promote HCN in community, social, and local networks for bonuses.
A successful Home Health Aide provides personal care under the direction of a Registered Nurse or Therapist, assigned to clients by the RN to maintain comfort and safety in their homes.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES- Deliver direct patient care and support, following the established plan of care, to pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients.
- Measure and record vital signs and other metrics as instructed.
- Assist with personal care tasks and activities of daily living (e.g., bathing, oral hygiene, nail & skin care, shaving, dressing).
- Perform household tasks essential to home health (meal prep/feeding, laundry, light housekeeping).
- Assist patients in taking medications under RN supervision (no administration).
- Identify and report any abnormal findings or changes in the patient’s condition.
- Help with therapy exercises under supervisor of therapists (range of motion, ambulation).
