Norwood Medical is seeking a Human Resource Generalist to deliver day-to-day HR support for its non-exempt hourly manufacturing operations in Dayton, OH (onsite). This role is built for hands-on, responsive HR service, with a focus on workforce needs, employee engagement and culture, and compliance within a regulated medical device environment.
What you’ll do- Act as the primary HR contact for hourly employees and production group leaders for questions related to policies
, attendance
, performance
, and general HR processes. - Serve as the key liaison between the hiring manager and the recruiter for hourly manufacturing roles
, ensuring timely communication on open positions. - Support onboarding for all hourly manufacturing new hires.
- Maintain accurate employee records and HR documentation in alignment with regulatory requirements and company policy.
- Partner with operations leadership to address employee relations issues promptly and consistently, with support from the HR Business Partner
. - Support administration of leaves of absence
, accommodations
, and workers compensation processes. - Assist with timekeeping
, payroll preparation
, attendance tracking
, and corrective action documentation as needed. - Coordinate and participate in employee engagement initiatives,
culture-building activities, and recognition programs. - Coordinate and manage wellness initiatives and events.
- Support compliance with employment law
, HR policies
, training requirements
, and audit needs. - Track HR metrics such as turnover
, staffing levels
, and onboarding effectiveness
, and identify trends to improve operational HR support.
- Typically requires a bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, plus three or more years of progressive HR experience.
- Preferably includes experience supporting an hourly manufacturing workforce
. - Working knowledge of employment laws and experience in employee relations

. - Experience in a regulated manufacturing environment is preferred.
