Data Engineer​/Analyst

V-Soft Consulting is currently hiring for a Data Engineer/Analyst (Hybrid) for our premier client in Ohio

Primary

Location:

Ohio

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
• Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in data engineering and/or data analysis roles.
• Experience with relational databases, data warehouses, and reporting tools.
• Strong knowledge of SQL, ETL processes, and data integration techniques.
• Proficiency in BI tools (Power BI, Tableau) and data visualization best practices.
• Familiarity with scripting languages (Python preferred) for data manipulation.
• Understanding of data governance, security, and compliance principles.
• Ability to analyze complex datasets and communicate insights effectively.
• Comfortable in front of operational data consumers with experience conveying complex data concepts for clarity and understanding.

• Data Integration & Pipeline Development:
  Design, develop, and maintain ETL processes to extract, transform, and load data from diverse sources into centralized repositories.
• Implement APIs and web services for data exchange between systems.
• Ensure data quality, reliability, and security throughout the data lifecycle.

• Data Modeling & Storage Optimization:
  Create and maintain logical and physical data models to support efficient storage and retrieval.
• Optimize database performance and scalability for reporting and analytics.

• Data Analysis & Visualization:
  Query and analyze large datasets using SQL and other tools to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies.
• Develop interactive dashboards and reports using tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or similar platforms.
• Provide actionable insights to support data-driven decision-making across departments.

• Collaboration & Support:
  Work closely with IT teams, business units, and stakeholders to understand data requirements and deliver solutions.
• Provide training and guidance on data tools, dashboards, and best practices.

• Governance & Documentation:
  Implement data governance standards for accuracy, security, and compliance.
• Prepare technical documentation and maintain periodic data quality checks.

• Problem Resolution & Continuous Improvement:
  Investigate and resolve data-related issues across systems and pipelines.
• Recommend and implement improvements to enhance data accessibility and reporting capabilities.
