We currently have a prospective opportunity for a Programmer/Analyst to support the Air Force at Wright-Patterson AFB in Dayton, Ohio.
Responsibilities- Maintain and support legacy applications in COBOL and NATURAL while driving development and transition efforts into a Java and .net environment.
- Refine and optimize code for performance, utilizing shared routines and industry best practices to prevent system degradation.
- Manage the entire software lifecycle, from initial requirement gathering and unit testing to production deployment and stakeholder out-briefings.
- Conduct rigorous testing for data validity, security directive adherence, and customer acceptance to ensure high-fidelity system performance.
- Perform Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) procedures to transition data layouts into Oracle and other formats for centralized data environments.
- Define and document security-relevant interfaces, functions, ports, and protocols to ensure explicit adherence to security assurance requirements.
- Author comprehensive Administrator and User guides detailing secure configuration, installation, maintenance, and user security responsibilities.
- Maintain detailed systems, operations, and in-code documentation, including process data flows and user-facing help screens.
- Minimum 5 years of experience writing and testing code in Java
- Must be able to pass Confidential background check
