MTSI is seeking a Technical Director – Digital Ecosystems to design, implement, and optimize advanced digital ecosystem solutions for Missile Defense Agency (MDA) and Space Systems Command (SSC) programs.
This role is heavily technical and focuses on integrating data systems and digital frameworks to support mission‑critical programs with scalable solutions that enable dynamic decision‑making, interoperability, and resiliency across multi‑domain environments.
The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in data architecture, digital ecosystem design, and technical systems integration, ensuring solutions align with operational requirements and exceed stakeholder expectations. This position is focused on delivering advanced technical solutions using emerging technologies, robust data workflows, and optimized architectures.
Responsibilities Technical Leadership in Digital Ecosystems- Architect and implement scalable digital solutions to support MDA and SSC mission operations, fostering robust data sharing across operational domains.
- Develop frameworks for interoperable and resilient data ecosystems, leveraging cloud‑based and edge computing technologies to enable secure, real‑time decision‑making.
- Deliver technical expertise in integrating disparate systems and legacy platforms into cohesive, future‑focused digital architectures.
- Design and optimize data architectures tailored to the needs of defense programs, ensuring high availability, scalability, and resiliency.
- Create workflows for ingesting, storing, processing, and visualizing large datasets using tools and methodologies aligned with operational priorities.
- Apply data‑driven approaches to enhance mission readiness, including predictive analytics, modeling, and simulation frameworks.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to deploy cutting‑edge tools and technologies, including AI/ML, IoT, blockchain, and 5G architectures.
- Enhance digital engineering capabilities by leveraging Dev Sec Ops methodologies and advancing solutions that integrate seamlessly across domains.
- Execute development cycles that ensure secure and efficient system performance in both classified and unclassified environments.
- Deliver secure systems utilizing Zero‑Trust methodologies and ensure compliance with federal cybersecurity mandates.
- Coordinate technical efforts with cross‑functional engineering teams to ensure seamless development and integration of digital solutions.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members, fostering collaboration and alignment across program priorities.
- Work closely with program leads to support full lifecycle development, validation, and sustainment of mission‑critical architectures.
- 12+ years of experience in technical systems architecture, digital ecosystem design, and data integration for mission‑critical systems.
- Expertise in architecting data systems, including workflows for storage, processing, and analytics using platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Hands‑on experience with secure system design, interoperability, and integration of emerging technologies (e.g., AI/ML, IoT, edge computing).
- Proven ability to optimize digital workflows, ensuring operational scalability and resiliency tailored to defense programs.
- Proficiency in software tools and programming languages such as Python, SQL, MATLAB, or other analytics platforms.
- Strong understanding of cloud technologies, cybersecurity principles, and Dev Sec Ops methodologies.
- Experience supporting programs for Missile Defense Agency (MDA) and Space Systems Command (SSC) or similar defense agencies.
- Expertise in delivering solutions using model‑based systems engineering (MBSE) and digital twin methodologies.
- Ability to leverage data visualization and analytical tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or similar platforms for mission‑critical insights.
- Advanced degree preferred in Systems Engineering, Data Science, or related technical field.
- Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, or related field required.
- Master’s degree strongly preferred.
Active TOP SECRET clearance with SCI eligibility required. Due to clearance requirements, U.S. citizenship is required.
