Overview
The DoW Skill Bridge internship program with Delaware Nation Industries (DNI) provides transitioning service members the opportunity to gain hands‑on experience across multiple information technology disciplines in a real‑world government contracting environment. DNI is a DoW Skill Bridge Industry Partner supporting federal customers including the Department of Defense and other agencies, delivering solutions across enterprise IT, cybersecurity, and mission support services.
This program is designed to bridge military experience into civilian IT careers through structured training, mentorship, and practical application, with potential for full‑time employment upon completion.
Functional Area
s
- Help Desk / IT Support
- Provide Tier 1‑2 technical support to end users
- Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues
- Document incidents using ticketing systems
- Support user account management and system access
- Systems Administration
- Assist with administration of Windows/Linux environments
- Manage user accounts, permissions, and group policies (e.g., Active Directory)
- Perform system maintenance, patching, and monitoring
- Support virtualization and cloud‑based environments
- Network Engineering
- Assist with configuration and maintenance of network infrastructure
- Monitor network performance and troubleshoot connectivity issues
- Work with routers, switches, firewalls, and secure communications
- Support implementation of cybersecurity best practices
- Software Development
- Participate in software design, development, and testing
- Work with modern programming languages and frameworks
- Support Dev Ops, CI/CD pipelines, and version control systems
- Contribute to automation and scripting efforts
- Cybersecurity / Information Assurance
- Assist with vulnerability assessments and system hardening
- Support compliance with DoD security standards
- Monitor systems for security incidents and anomalies
- Gain hands‑on experience in a production IT environment supporting federal missions
- Apply technical skills to real‑world projects and operational tasks
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams and senior technical staff
- Participate in training, mentorship, and knowledge‑sharing sessions
- Develop professional skills for transition into civilian IT careers
Basic Qualifications
- Active secret clearance (or higher)
- Active IAT II certification (Security+) or higher
- Active Duty Service Member eligible for DoD Skill Bridge
- Within 180 days of separation or retirement
- Command approval for participation
