MTSI is seeking an Operations Research Systems Analyst SME to support mission-critical programs through the application of advanced operational research methodologies, mission systems engineering, and digital ecosystem expertise. The ideal candidate will excel at analyzing complex defense systems, integrating data-driven solutions, and optimizing mission‑critical digital frameworks to enhance agility, interoperability, and operational resilience across multi‑domain environments. This role combines quantitative analysis, system architecture optimization, and mission‑focused engineering, enabling secure and scalable systems that drive digital transformation within defense operations.
You will collaborate with cross‑functional teams to deliver actionable results, influencing key decisions and empowering mission success for warfighters and stakeholders alike.
- Apply Operations Research (OR) methods to conduct trade studies, quantitative analyses, and sensitivity assessments for mission‑critical systems.
- Develop models, simulations, and frameworks to support dynamic decision‑making across systems‑of‑systems architectures.
- Analyze operational performance metrics, identify mission gaps, and recommend solutions for digital workflows and mission systems integration.
- Drive mission systems engineering initiatives, ensuring seamless integration across digital solutions within multi‑domain operations.
- Architect and refine digital ecosystem frameworks, enabling secure data exchange, enhanced collaboration, and interoperability across legacy and modern systems.
- Shape architecture solutions leveraging emerging technologies, including cloud environments, edge computing, AI/ML, and IoT to empower digital warfighter capabilities.
- Collaborate with technical teams to implement systems aligned with operational requirements, CONOPS, and multi‑domain engagement strategies.
- Build scalable models for mission system modernization, delivering results that enhance resiliency, cybersecurity, and operational agility.
- Integrate advanced data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) and analytical software (e.g., Python, SQL, MATLAB) to produce key insights for stakeholders.
- Optimize mission‑critical tools and processes to identify risks, quantify outcomes, and guide technology adoption strategies across warfighter ecosystems.
- Develop predictive analyses and simulation models to assess future mission requirements and capabilities.
- Work closely with cross‑functional engineering, program management, and government leadership teams to align solutions with operational objectives.
- Provide actionable insights through technical briefs, reports, and presentations for leadership and mission stakeholders.
- Assist in developing mission‑focused digital solutions by facilitating collaboration across technical and operational teams, ensuring alignment with customer goals.
- 10+ years of experience in operations research, systems analysis, or systems engineering with a focus on mission‑critical systems and architectures.
- Expertise in developing models, simulations, and decision frameworks to optimize mission systems and digital ecosystem integrations.
- Strong knowledge of mission systems engineering principles, including data‑driven optimization, workflow analysis, and operational risk assessments.
- Proficiency with tools such as Python, SQL, MATLAB, Tableau, or Power BI for quantitative analysis and data visualization.
- Ability to bridge technical and operational disciplines to design systems supporting multi‑domain operations and digital transformation.
- Demonstrated ability to work in cross‑functional teams and communicate complex analyses to technical and non‑technical audiences clearly.
- Familiarity with digital ecosystems leveraging AI/ML, IoT, cloud computing, and secure architectures for defense systems.
- Strong knowledge of CONOPS (Concept of Operations) and CONEMP (Concept of Employment) frameworks.
- Experience in risk analysis, performance diagnostics, or system optimization methods for multi‑domain operations.
- Advanced degree preferred in Operations Research, Systems Engineering, Applied Mathematics, or related field.
- Bachelor’s degree in Operations Research, Systems Engineering, Applied Mathematics, or related technical discipline required.
- Master’s degree strongly preferred.
Flexible, with priority posting in Ohio (OH), Virginia (VA), and Alabama (AL).
