Job Overview
The Platform Engineer will operate a secure, reliable, and highly available cloud, managed hosting, and developer platform, supporting the United States Air Force. The role involves translating business and development team requirements into automated platform solutions and working closely with security, compliance, and other platform engineers.
Responsibilities- Operate and maintain a highly available cloud and developer platform.
- Translate business and development requirements into automated platform solutions.
- Implement secure infrastructure features, configurations, and automation in collaboration with security and compliance teams.
- Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines and development workflows.
- Leverage expertise in AWS cloud, cloud and network security, containers, Kubernetes, and IaC.
- Lead and collaborate across development teams in a fast‑paced, agile environment.
Required:
- 1+ years of Dev Ops experience with containerized and Kubernetes production systems.
- Experience with CI/CD and developer workflow automation.
- Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) and Kubernetes deployment.
- Ability to work with hardened AMI and container images.
- Ability to obtain a DoW 8570 IAT II Certification within 60 days of start.
- Secret clearance.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or Engineering.
- Experience with cloud and network security architecture.
- Experience with DoW, FENCES, and Keycloak.
- Experience with Special Access Programs (SAP) mission workloads.
- Experience with service meshes such as Istio or AWS App Mesh.
- Experience with multiple cloud service providers.
- Experience with identity authentication and authorization (SSO, SAML, OpenID).
- Experience managing Ubuntu, RHEL, or Windows Server operating systems.
- TS/SCI clearance.
- DoW 8570 IAT Level II or Level III certification.
Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and must be eligible for access to classified information. Secret clearance is required.
Compensation & BenefitsSalary: $61,900.00 to $ (annualized USD). Compensation includes health, life, disability, financial, and retirement benefits; paid leave; professional development; tuition assistance; work‑life programs; and dependent care. Eligibility for full benefits requires a minimum of 20 hours of full‑time work per week.
