Position Overview
The 711th Human Performance Wing (711 HPW), headquartered at Wright‑Patterson Air Force Base in Ohio, is the first human‑centric warfare wing to consolidate human performance research, education, and consultation under a single organization. Established under the Air Force Research Laboratory, the 711 HPW is comprised of the Airman Systems Directorate (RH), the United States Air Force School of Aerospace Medicine (USAFSAM), and the Human Systems Integration Directorate (HP).
The Wing delivers unparalleled capability to the Air Force through world‑class infrastructure and the expertise of its diverse workforce of military, civilian and contractor personnel encompassing 75 occupational specialties.
- Provide the first‑line of technical assistance for information systems, software, hardware, networks, video teleconference, telephones/fax devices services used by USAFSAM and 711 HPW personnel.
- Packing, unpacking, configuring, upgrading, installing, relocating, connecting new and existing systems to the network(s), installing the Standard Desktop Configuration (SDC) software suite, custom AF, DoD, Commercial Off‑the‑Shelf (COTS), other software on personal computer systems, tablets/mobile computing devices, configuring and troubleshooting video teleconference equipment, displays and other actions.
- Perform and/or assist in managing computer and network equipment inventories and the ITEC account(s); assist system and network managers in managing network accounts; assist the Information Assurance Officer (IAO)/Cybersecurity Liaison (CL) in providing system and network security and/or responding to, containing and/or mitigating computer security incidents; and in resolving problems/issues encountered by personnel in their use of computer or telephone systems/services.
- Serve as the liaison between the 711 HPW Computer/Network Support Division (OMC), assigned 711 HPW personnel, and the 88th Communications Group (CG) WPAFB, OH or other organizations in the resolution of computer/fax related problems/issues.
- Install, configure, test, deploy, manage and maintain all segments and elements of the 711 HPW’s networks and fax devices including communications interfaces to internal or external networks.
- Assist with operational management of Wing IT systems, telephones, fax devices, and networks and ensure non‑availability does not exceed 1% of annual, normal operating hours.
- Ensure 99.9% of 711 HPW owned or operated telephones, modems, multi‑function printers and fax machines/devices have the required stickers, labels and/or required documentation.
- Provide prompt, professional, customer‑friendly, first‑line IT support for the 711 HPW at all times.
- Secret Clearance (active or interim)
- Security+ Certification
- B.S. in computer‑related area and 1 year of relevant experience OR
- B.S. in any area and 2 years of relevant experience OR
- Associates Degree in computer‑area and 3 years of relevant experience
- HS Diploma and 4 years of relevant experience
