This opportunity supports a team of Data Scientists, Cryptologic Computer Scientists, Cryptanalytic Computer Scientists, Cryptologic Cyber Planners, Intrusion Analysts, Protocol Analysts, Signals Analysts and Reverse Engineers, responsible for improving, protecting, and defending our Nation s Security.
Job Description:
We are looking for a Protocol Analyst to work directly with signals analysis, preferably related to communications signals (e.g., bitstream analysis, waveform analysis, protocol analysis), network troubleshooting, network traffic characterization, and/or network security analysis.
The Protocol Analyst shall possess the following capabilities:
- Strong understanding of signals analysis.
- Be well-versed in DVT, WVT, and PKTSWING.
- Ability to dig into massive sets of hex dumps and pick out repeatable data patterns that could be forms of communication hiding in the signal.
- Strong understanding of telecom-based network analysis, especially the network layer.
- Level 1:
Bachelor s degree plus 2 years of relevant experience. A H.S. diploma or GED plus 6 years of relevant experience, or an Associate s degree plus 4 years of relevant experience will be considered for those who have completed relevant military training. - Level 2:
Bachelor s degree plus 5 years of relevant experience or Master s degree plus 3 years of relevant experience or Doctoral degree plus 2 years of relevant experience. A H.S. diploma or GED plus 7 years of relevant experience, or an Associate s degree plus 7 years of relevant experience will be considered for those who have completed relevant military training. - Level 3:
Bachelor s degree plus 8 years of relevant experience or Master s degree plus 6 years of relevant experience or Doctoral degree plus 4 years of relevant experience. Associate s degree with 10 years of relevant experience or H.S. Diploma or GED with 12 years of relevant experience will be considered for those who have completed relevant military training. - Level 4:
Bachelor s degree plus 11 years of relevant experience or Master s degree plus 9 years of relevant experience, or Doctoral degree plus 7 years of relevant experience. Associate s plus 13 years of relevant experience or H.S. diploma or GED plus 15 years of relevant experience will be considered for those who have completed relevant military training. - All Levels:
- Relevant military training includes:
- Intermediate Signal Analysis (451/461)
- Advanced Signals Analysis (452)
- Military COMINT Signals Analysis Program (MCSAP)
- Bachelor s Degree must be in Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science, a Physical Science, or related technical field.
- Relevant experience must be in signals analysis, including protocol analysis, and also include network troubleshooting, network traffic characterization, and/or network security analysis.
Position requires active Security Clearance with appropriate Polygraph
Pay Range: Competitive
