Full-Time / Day Shift
This position is characterized by significant insurance and claims management duties, which require knowledge of the insurance and claim management process, excellent interpersonal skills and a high level of accountability. This position supports all insurance and claims management for Premier Health Partners and, in particular for the system captive insurance program, Premier Health Partners International Insurance, Ltd. In addition, this position supports the Director of Risk Management & Insurance by investigating facts, editing legal documents, checking insurance forms for accuracy and completeness, preparing correspondence and filing documents and reports with various governmental agencies.
EducationMinimum Level of
Education Required:
Associate degree or Associates degree in business or healthcare related field required or willing to sign an Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) agreement that states you would be willing to earn your Associate's Degree in a certain period of time.
Additional requirements:
- Type of degree:
Two-year associate degree from an accredited institution approved by the General Counsel’s Office. Area of study or major:
Legal assisting, insurance, claims handling, business, finance, or similarly related Licensure/Certification/Registration
Minimum Level of Experience
Required:
3 - 5 years of job related experience
Prior specific functional responsibilities:
Legal Assisting and/or Contracts, Insurance, Claims, Risk Management.
Preferred experience:
Experience in a law firm or insurance agency in assisting with claims and/or insurance matters
- Demonstrates proficiency with Riskonnect (fka CSSTARS) claims software program and experience with financial data-based software.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite of products required, including Excel.
- C. Proficiency in medical, insurance and legal terminology as evidenced by IIA or hospital-related courses.
- D. Ability to tactfully and effectively communicate with patients and their families, visitors, staff, outside counsel, as well as insurance brokers/agents.
- E. Demonstrates discretion in dealing with highly confidential and sensitive material.
- F. Ability to prioritize work under tight schedule, excellent writing and communication skills, outstanding organizational skills and ability to pay close attention to detail.
