Yard Attendant

Job Description

IAA, an RB Global, Inc. company is seeking a Yard Attendant to join our team. Yard Attendants work in the elements, are detail‑oriented, quick on their feet, and are passionate about cars. They focus on safety, smooth operations, and learning new technologies.

• Vehicle check‑in by recording and filing information on vehicles assigned to the facility.
• Detail vehicles to improve appearance and value at auction (training provided).
• Operate passenger vehicles safely, moving vehicles around the facility or during drive‑through auctions.
• Recover keys, license plates, and other items from vehicles and store them appropriately.
• Assist visitors with guidance and direct them to appropriate personnel.
• Train and develop on‑the‑job skills in forklift and loader operation.

• High school diploma (or equivalent).
• Valid driver’s license and eligibility to operate motor vehicles.
• Upbeat demeanor for positive customer interactions.
• Teamwork skills.
• Physical fitness to lift up to 50 lbs regularly and occasional lifts over 100 lbs.
• Ability to work outdoors in all types of weather.
• Must remain alert to hazards of heavy equipment and vehicles.
• Basic automotive repair skills or experience in rental/ construction area is a plus.

• Use of personal protective equipment (e.g., gloves, glasses).
• Recognize and respond to unsafe situations.
• Follow industry regulations related to hazardous materials.
• Constantly lift, carry, push or pull up to 20 lbs; frequently lift, carry, push or pull up to 50 lbs; occasionally lift, carry, push or pull over 100 lbs.
• Consistently reach, handle, and finger objects; stand, walk, sit.
• Frequent bending, squatting, kneeling, twisting, turning, climbing, and crawling.
• Primarily outdoor work in all weather conditions.
• Remain alert to potential hazards associated with heavy equipment and vehicles.
