Job Summary The Building Operations Team Member is responsible for the maintenance of Crossroads’ sites, handling building and equipment emergencies on an ongoing basis and delivering a well-maintained facility to be used by Crossroads and outside parties.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities- Perform maintenance and repair activities for building and equipment.
- Perform skilled preventive maintenance in carpentry, electrical, plumbing and painting.
- Conduct regular building inspections and prepare the necessary work order requests.
- Respond to inquiries and requests by building tenants and resolve problems in a timely manner.
- Monitor building schedule and provide needed support for non-staff tenants hosting events on Crossroads property.
- Guide cleaning contractors and ensure their services meet Crossroads cleaning standards.
- Recruit, develop, and lead volunteer teams.
- Manage and maintain all event support properties (e.g., folding chairs, tables).
- Protect all entities’ value by keeping information confidential.
- Work closely with the staff to build and maintain a strong team environment and support the vision and mission.
- Attend regular ministry team meetings, all-staff meetings, and participate in additional meetings as requested.
- Perform other duties as requested by manager and leadership.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- General residential/commercial maintenance knowledge is essential.
- At least 3 years of experience performing general maintenance or in a similar role is preferred.
- Excellent project management skills are required.
- Able to work with minimal supervision while coordinating with other staff and organizations.
- Strong organizational, communication, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to lead volunteers and volunteer teams in the execution of projects is essential.
- Physical demands include lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling; stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling. Typical breakdown: 20% sitting, 30% walking, 50% standing. Travel between properties will be required.
